The most important thing that you buy when purchasing a house is the builder, not the house’s amenities. Quality builders understand that their reputation is on the line with each and every home they build.
- Brian Fines, VP of Operations

Comparing prices from construction companies isn’t an easy task. Let’s say on one hand, you’ve got a fair price from a reputable company, and on the other, an even better price from a second company. How do you know if that low-ball bid is too good to be true?
In order to start comparing, you’ll need extraordinarily detailed quotes: every faucet, every fixture, every door. It’s the only way to compare prices side-by-side. By using a not-so-detailed quote, a less-than-reputable company can appear to beat any price by thousands of dollars.
Protect yourself from surprises later by getting a thoroughly detailed quote from all builders that you’re considering. If a builder seems unwilling, or attempts to gloss over the details of your home, find a builder who will sit down with you for as long as it takes to make sure you’re both on the same page.
